The Honourable Commissioner of Women Affairs, Community and Social Development Mrs Flora Alatan commissioned Bore Hole and Market projects built by Community Driven Development Unit under the State Employment and Expenditure for Result (SEEFOR) Project.
This project is a state Government, World Bank/European Union sponsored project under the Community Department of the Ministry. Under the present administration of His Excellency, Sen(Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, the Govt has ensured prompt payment of its share of the counterpart funds to enable Rural Communities take advantage of the programme to construct Community initiated projects.
The event saw the cultural display of Ute Erumu women to formally welcome the HC to the community. Following the official introduction of dignitaries in attendance and speeches by the various Govt/Community representatives, the HC went straight to the business of the day by commissioning and inspecting of the Bore Hole project which was meant to produce portable drinking water for the community. This was immediately followed by the commissioning of ten lock up shops and open market with toilet facilities. The projects were commissioned to the Glory of God and to the benefit of humanity.
The occasion was attended by the Executive Chairman of Ika North East, His Royal Majesty of Ute Erumu Kingdom, Hon Commissioner of Economic Planning, the Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Women Development Mrs Georgina, Project Coordinator SEEFOR and staff of Community Driven Development Unit.
