In line with the stronger Delta Vision of His Excellency, Sen(Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, the HC of Women Affairs, Community and Social Development Mrs Flora Alatan was on ground to Commission the skill acquisition centre and Open Market Shops at Koko, Warri North LGA built by the Community Driven Development Unit under the SEEFOR Project
This project was a joint one between the Delta State Government, World Bank and European Union. The aim is encourage Community Driven Development projects, that is, projects that are initiated by the host Communities and funded by the respective partners.
The event witnessed the display of cultural dance to officially welcome the Commissioner home. Following the speeches of the various Govt Representatives, the HC proceeded to the commission and inspect the facilities installed in the skill acquisition centre. The centre was meant to train youths from the community into professional welders and Carpenters.
Also, the HC officially opened the ten(10) Open Market shops at the Koko Market.
While speaking, Mrs Alatan advised the host Community to ensure the facilities are protected against vandals to encourage more of such projects in the area.
Those in attendance includes, Hon Aduge Okorodudun, Mrs Grace Ikanone(SSA to Delta State Governor), Mr David Oniyeburutan (KCMA Chairman), Koko Youth Chairman Mr Eyito, SEEFOR Project Coordinator, Community Elders, PDP supporters.
All the projects were commissioned to the glory of God and benefit of humanity.
